How to use our imagebank?
To find the picture of your choice, you may proceed as follows:
1- By topics
By browsing through the categories and sub-categories of your choice. Click on one of the icons representing the broad categories: Constructions, Fauna, Flora, Sceneries, People, Miscellaneous and explore the sub-categories as pleases you!
2- By keywords
Using our search engine.
To begin a search, type one or more words of your choice and click on the “GO” icon (or hit “Enter” on your keyboard). The result from your search will now appear in the form of icons. You just have to click on them for the picture to be displayed.
If the search contains several words, a single space should separate each one of them. When using multiple words, our search engine will only display those photos which enclose ALL the chosen words.
Example: beach mauritius island
Result: all the photos of the beaches of the island of Mauritius will be displayed.
To exclude a particular word from your search, insert the “minus” ( - ) sign in front of the word. The sign should furthermore be preceded by a single space.
Example: reptile -tortoise
Result: the photos of all reptiles except tortoises will be displayed.
Hints:
- As far as possible, use words in the singular form when using the search engine.
- The search can contain words from the English or French vocabulary, but Latin words can also be used when searching for scientific names of the animals.
- Accents and upper or lower case letters will not influence the search. Whatever be the typography used, the search engine will always interpret the letters in your keywords as lower case and without accent.
Portfolio
To retain all your selected photos, use the “Your portfolio” function.
To be able to use this service, you just have to subscribe under the “Your account” heading by filling in the form (after having clicked on the “Register now” link). A password will be sent to you thus allowing you to use this special function.
You will find the “portfolio” icon ( ) beneath each image. By simply clicking on it, the picture will be immediately transferred to your portfolio, thus allowing you to store and subsequently review the selected images. The portfolio has a maximum storage capacity of 20 photos.
